As the sun sets Michelle is excited for the opportunity to release newly hatched baby turtles into the ocean. On occasion the turtle reserve in Nuevo Vallarta extends the job of releasing baby turtles to people who are in the area. There were about thirty released this evening. It is not known how many actually make to the open ocean. It does appear that the turtle population is growing by the nunber we see while sailing to different locations.
Michelle is holding a baby turtle in the palm of her hand before releasing it into the open ocean.
Coastal Passage is currently in a slip at Paradise Village Marina in Nuevo Vallarta. The marina is part of a beautiful resort. We arrived the third week of May 2008, and plan to depart October 31, and spend a few weeks in Banderas Bay. Then sail south along the Mexican Riviera.
